Luring, stealing, and more

Tonight there was a shard event on Hybrid. I showed up, took one look at AllNames, and left. Far too reminiscent of old days getting ganked by lizards and rats in Brit, or of trying to lay the beatdown on Juo'nar in Trinsic...

In other words, way too fucking crowded.

Hopping through random gates can be fun as well as profitable. Here, I jumped into a gate at the bank and wound up in the midst of these fine guildmates relocating their house. Unfortunately, by the time I made the scene, most of the containers were gone (and I had no way to get the heavy ones out, anyway). So I grabbed their dye tubs - 1 each of all 6 kinds - and a couple of potion kegs. It's free, so I can't complain, right?

Luring monsters around is one of my favorite pastimes in UO. I like to screw with other players' sense of what areas are "safe," and who or what they might encounter where. Here, I lured a dragon from the bowels of T2A to the ostard spawn just outside Delucia. It wasn't as fruitful an escapade as I'd hoped (not many people died) but I'm sure they know I was just trying to help. After all, what better way to raise taming skill than by practicing on a dragon?

Speaking of other players' misconceptions regarding where they are and are not safe, sitting idly in your guildhouse while your mates come in and out is never a good idea. Sitting around unhidden is just asking for it (you should be able to hide in any house you're friended to 100% of the time with 0 skill). Sure, 9 times out of 10 you'll get away with it, but then one day some bastard thief will make the scene. He'll stealth in behind one of your guildmates, wait for them to leave, and then steal you dry. Hey Melody, thx 4 the regs and GeePees!!!!1
